WDCC / Camp Waterdown Update
Good Afternoon Families,
I am sure for many of you, this probably has been the longest 3 weeks of your lives and some of the most stressful times as well. We are hopeful that you are managing your new realities and taking time to notice some of the positives that have come from this time together.
As promised, we will begin to role out virtual opportunities for our children and families and have been busy this week researching the best way to do this. We have decided that Zoom and Facebook will be the platforms we will use for these connections, however we will continue to monitor their effectiveness and evaluate their performance. In order to participate you will need to have the Zoom Video Conferencing application downloaded onto your phone, tablet or desktop computer.
When you are sent an invite (or click an invite link), it will ask you to install their application. Or you can pre-load it from here: https://zoom.us/download#client_4meeting
All of our meetings will require a password for security and we will only let our families participate. Do be aware however that unless we produce a Live Feed video in Facebook, in our video conference meetings everyone can potentially hear and see everyone else in the meeting (although you can turn your camera and mic off as needed). You may also dial in by telephone to participate on audio only.
Please follow the easy and free access here: https://zoom.us/meetings, as well as a Facebook account which free access can be found here: https://www.facebook.com
Please register for our Private Facebook Group (opens in a new tab). Information you provide in the registration questionnaire is to help us identify participants and not available to other Facebook users.
Create an account or log into Facebook. Connect with friends, family and other people you know. Share photos and videos, send messages and get updates.
Our schedule for next week will be the following (most sessions would be 30 – 45 minutes long to begin):
