Hamilton and Waterdown Area Schools to Remain Closed through May 4th The HWDSB and Ministry of Education officially announced yesterday that our schools will be closed until at least May 4th pending a re-evaluation of the COVID-19 situation. We miss you! We have created a Private Facebook Group for our registered families to join. We will be posting additional support and resource information there, plus using it as one way to keep our community of families and staff in touch with each other during the COVID-19 isolation period. We have posted valuable resource information for families trying to navigate these difficult times
In an effort to help support our community during this time of self isolation, we will begin publishing and distributing materials and initiatives to help our families continue the processes of child education and healthy development at home. We have now sent out all Before & After School and Child Care Centre 2019 Tax Receipts (Handed out in Program or via the Mail). Any payments made through Pre-Authorized Debit for School Holiday Programs will also have been attached above. 2019 (and 2018) Tax Receipts for all our School Holiday Programs that were paid by INTERAC, PayPal or Cheque will be found in the
March Break 2020 at Camp Waterdown. Over the five days of this March Break program we will be pumping children’s spirits, their sense of self and of community, showing how our day-to-day feelings and actions affect outcomes and the achievements of our goals and ultimately affect the world we live in. The Elementary Teacher’s Federation of Ontario and HWDSB have confirmed that there will be a province-wide walk out on Friday February 21st affecting ALL HWDSB Schools (Elementary and High Schools). At this point, unless a settlement is reached or we are informed otherwise by the HWDSB, we are planning to provide another Full Day Alternate Program at Guy B. Brown Elementary, 7am – 6pm
