Hamilton and Waterdown Area Schools to Remain Closed through May 4th The HWDSB and Ministry of Education officially announced yesterday that our schools will be closed until at least May 4th pending a re-evaluation of the COVID-19 situation. Good Afternoon WDCC & Camp Waterdown Families, We wanted to post a quick update on what is happening here at WDCC. We have had to close all our offices, so all our staff are working separately from home, and we are employing modern teleconferencing and online Team software to continue our program planning and improvements. This safe “togetherness” is already having a beneficial effect
During the time of this closure we cannot access our facilities and we will not be running any pre-planned or alternative on-site programs.
The Elementary Teacher’s Federation of Ontario and HWDSB have confirmed that there will be a province-wide walk out on Friday February 21st affecting ALL HWDSB Schools (Elementary and High Schools). At this point, unless a settlement is reached or we are informed otherwise by the HWDSB, we are planning to provide another Full Day Alternate Program at Guy B. Brown Elementary, 7am – 6pm
ETFO and the HWDSB have announced potential new strike dates of February 11 (Tuesday) province-wide strike and February 13 (Thursday) for HWDSB Elementary schools should negotiations continue without resolution. Those families who are already confirmed for Full Day Alternate Care Additional Days (including February 6 & 7) will be automatically registered for those additional dates if not cancelled (and opted out of the Full
ETFO will be walking out of Hamilton (and Waterdown) Area Schools on Friday January 31st this week. That means our Full Day Alternate Care Program, will come into affect at Guy B. Brown Elementary School.
